After getting approval to hold a design sprint for an afternoon for my team, I spent a day creating the above FigJam template to ensure that it was a repeatable workshop format that we could leverage in our work. After receiving critique from my co-designers Audrey Elliott (who worked closely with me in T-rux) and Bethany Lankin (who had previously participated in design sprints), I explained the template to the invitees and assigned them a company to complete competitive analysis on. After holding everyone to the weeklong deadline, I added the assets to the design sprint file and led everyone through the workshop (resulting in the FigJam below). After receiving excellent feedback and overall positive responses, I decided to present the workshop format to a larger audience via the Lunch & Learn sessions, and did so through a FigJam presentation (the last one on this page).
The hard stops design sprint resulted in the DEUX Content Design team getting together and formalizing rules around content for hard stops based on the findings of the design sprint, and are currently using the prioritized task list as a checklist to tackle improvements on hard stops across MyAmFam, the Digital Sales Platform, and even AmFam.com.
